ROLE OVERVIEW

The Waiter ensures efficient food and beverage (F&B) operations, supervises the service team, and delivers high-quality guest experiences in line with Viking’s STAR Service Standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO ON BOARD

• Manage assigned service stations and supervise 2-4 Assistant Waiters or Café Attendants.
• Oversee restaurant reservations, seating, and room service orders.
• Conduct inventories and stock takes as required.
• Use appropriate food and wine terminology; familiarize yourself with menu items and wine lists to enhance the guest dining experience.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously; follow company alcohol-serving policies.
• Assist with F&B activities, such as cocktail parties and special events.
• Maintain cleanliness standards, ensure equipment is sanitized, and manage inventory stock ccording to policies.
• Prepare service areas 15 minutes before shifts; assist with embarkation duties and luggage handling.
• Participate in daily team meetings to align with operational needs and uphold STAR Service Standards.
• Proactively manage service according to guest flow and activities on board.

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Waiter in premium hospitality; shipboard experience required.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Physically fit to handle tasks involving prolonged standing, lifting, and bending.
• Flexible, stress-resistant, and a strong team player with an exceptional work ethic.
• Guest-focused personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards.
