About the Role
At CLA Romania, as a Senior
Auditor, you will lead and deliver audit engagements, supervise junior team
members, and ensure high-quality financial reporting in line with applicable
auditing standards.
Key Responsibilities
·
Lead and
execute statutory and group audit engagements for Romanian and international
clients (small, medium, and large entities), under the coordination of the
Audit Manager.
·
Manage audit
engagements for small-size clients and support the Audit Manager on complex
assignments.
·
Plan audit
engagements and prepare audit planning documentation for the Audit Manager’s
first review.
·
Perform
analytical procedures, including year-on-year comparisons, trend analyses,
ratio analysis, and review of balances and journal entries.
·
Evaluate
clients’ accounting systems and internal control frameworks, identifying key
risks and control deficiencies.
·
Perform
detailed substantive testing and compliance testing in accordance with audit
programs.
·
Participate
in inventory counts and perform procedures related to going concern and
subsequent events.
·
Obtain and
document sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to support audit conclusions
and opinions on financial statements.
·
Ensure
proper application of auditing standards, fundamental procedures, and
professional principles.
·
Verify the
accuracy and completeness of accounting records and ensure transactions are
properly reflected in the financial statements.
·
Participate
in proposing audit adjustments and in the overall review of financial
statements and reporting packages.
·
Prepare key
deliverables, including the Audit Summary Memorandum, Auditor’s Report,
Representation Letter, Management Letter, and reporting packages for group
auditors (for the Audit Manager’s first review).
·
Supervise
semi-seniors, assistants, and junior staff, providing on-the-job training,
guidance, and performance feedback.
·
Perform
engagement administration and file reviews to ensure work is completed in
accordance with internal quality standards.
·
Monitor
engagement budgets and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality
audit work.
·
Manage and
optimize team workflow and utilization to ensure efficient allocation and
completion of assignments.
·
Monitor team
KPIs, identify performance gaps, and proactively coach or escalate issues where
necessary.
·
Act as the
primary point of contact for engagement teams and maintain strong professional
relationships with client management.
·
Support
recruitment activities, including interviewing candidates and reviewing
assessment results.
·
Contribute
to business development initiatives and support the growth of the client
portfolio.
·
Deputize for
and assist the Audit Manager and Head of Audit Department as required.
What We’re Looking
For
·
Bachelor’s
degree required
·
5+ years of
experience on a similar position (previous experience in a consultancy organization would be an
advantage)
·
Excellent
critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem-solving abilities
·
Strong
research, analytical and report writing skills
·
High
proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and curiosity for
technology and automation
·
Strong
personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness
